Welcome to IHTC
The International Health Training Center of USFQ is designed to give participants a unique opportunity to improve language, intercultural and clinical skills. IHTC facilitates participation in clinical and community health projects in a diverse network of hospitals and institutions in rural and urban areas throughout all regions of Ecuador: the Amazon, Sierra, Coast and Galapagos Islands.
Our Mission
The International Health Training Center operates in harmony with the mission of USFQ’s College of Health Science Department, whose founding principles lay in achieving academic excellence through integrating the humanities and liberal arts with health science, and a vision of Medicine as a social responsibility and service. At IHTC we believe quality health education embodies both theory and practice in a way that fosters intercultural understanding and awareness of global health issues. By facilitating the collaboration between Ecuadorian health practitioners and educators, and international medical professionals and students, IHTC envisions a future of socially responsible health practice worldwide.
